Fenway Web Develops the Boston Made App — Now Live on iOS & Android

A Fenway Web Case Study

One App. One Connected Boston Made Experience.

Fenway Web created the Boston Made App as a centralized digital doorway into the Boston Made family of brands—bringing news, analysis, subscriptions, support and brand discovery together in one simple, mobile-friendly platform.

A growing brand portfolio creates opportunity—but it also creates a design challenge. How do customers move easily from corporate news to financial education, pet products, marketing services and the personalities behind the company without getting lost? The Boston Made App is Fenway Web’s answer: a single, recognizable home for a connected ecosystem.

More Than Another App Icon

The goal was never to build technology simply to say that Boston Made had an app. The goal was to create useful connective tissue. Each Boston Made property can maintain its own identity, audience and purpose, while the app gives visitors a consistent way to understand how the pieces relate.

“The strongest brand ecosystems do not erase the differences between their brands. They make those differences easier to discover, understand and navigate.”
01

Discover

Explore the Boston Made portfolio from a unified Brands area instead of relying on scattered bookmarks or search results.

02

Connect

03

Return

Use Wires and subscription tools as a recurring source for new stories, announcements, educational content and portfolio developments.

The App Sitemap

Fenway Web organized the main experience around six plain-language destinations. That compact navigation keeps the first visit approachable while leaving room for the platform to grow.

SectionPurposeUser value
HomeThe primary dashboard and starting point.A fast overview with clear routes into the ecosystem.
AnalysisA home for perspective, educational material and deeper editorial content.Helps users move beyond headlines and understand the ideas behind the brands.

SubscribeEntry point for Boston Made+ and ongoing communications.Turns occasional visitors into connected members of the audience.
WiresA stream of updates from across the portfolio.Creates a repeat-use reason to return and see what is new.

A Portfolio Designed to Work Together

The public app currently connects visitors with major Boston Made destinations, including Boston Made corporate channels, the Boston Made Newsroom, Bosstox, Fenway Web, Boston Made’s pet initiatives and the company’s leadership platform. This hub-and-spoke model matters: the app becomes the common front door, while specialized websites remain the best place for detailed services, products and editorial experiences.

For users, that means fewer dead ends. For the company, it creates more opportunities for responsible cross-promotion. A reader who arrives for a Newsroom story can discover a related brand. A business owner who first encounters Fenway Web can learn about the broader portfolio. A follower of market analysis can see how Bosstox fits within Boston Made’s larger technology and media direction.

How Fenway Web Built the Experience

  1. Portfolio discovery: map the brands, audiences, content sources and desired customer journeys.
  2. Information architecture: reduce a large ecosystem to a short, understandable menu.
  3. Shared design language: create a consistent app experience without stripping individual brands of their visual personality.
  4. Content connections: organize Wires and links so fresh information can travel across the network.
  5. Mobile-first production: optimize tap targets, hierarchy, readable layouts and clear calls to action for smaller screens.
  6. Scalable foundation: structure the experience so new brands, feeds and services can be introduced without rebuilding the entire platform.

Competing Through Connectivity

The mobile market is crowded. Boston Made’s advantage is not based on copying a single-purpose app; it is based on bringing a multi-brand network together. The app can function as a discovery layer, a publishing channel and a relationship-building platform. Every addition to the portfolio can make the central experience more useful, while the central experience can send qualified attention back to each brand.

  • One recognizable starting point
  • Clear brand-to-brand pathways
  • Central access to current Wires
  • Mobile-friendly navigation
  • Room for future services and benefits
  • Consistent support and subscription routes
  • Stronger portfolio-level storytelling
  • A platform Fenway Web can continually improve

Easy to Access, Easy to Use

Visitors can open the Boston Made App at app.bostonmade.com from a phone, tablet or computer. The live site provides a dedicated Download App route, and the browser-based hub is the verified public access point. From there, users can enter through Home, browse Brands, read Wires, explore Analysis, seek Help or Subscribe.

Publishing note: This article intentionally links to the official Boston Made App hub. Add separate Apple App Store and Google Play badges only when the corresponding live store listing URLs have been verified. This keeps the call to action accurate while supporting the intended iOS and Android distribution strategy.

What Comes Next

A centralized platform creates a strong foundation for continued development: personalized brand discovery, carefully permissioned notifications, saved content, member benefits, richer search and deeper commerce connections. Each feature should be introduced only when it makes the customer journey simpler and respects user choice, privacy and accessibility.

That is the larger Fenway Web strategy: build the platform as a living product, measure how people use it, improve the highest-value journeys and keep the experience coherent as Boston Made expands. The result is not merely a collection of links. It is an evolving digital headquarters for the entire brand family.
